ChatGPT can't read your site
If robots.txt blocks OAI-SearchBot, OpenAI says your site "will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers". Check with the free AI crawler checker.
Your products aren't in Shopify Catalog
On Shopify, products reach ChatGPT through Shopify Catalog if you sell to the US and your three store policies are filled in. Check Sales channels, then Agentic.
Your page doesn't say what the question asks
Shoppers ask with conditions: a use, a size, a budget. In our data, a brand was named in 33% of answers when the question asked for what its page stated, and 0.1% on broad questions.
Your facts are in images or tabs
Specs inside images or in content that loads later may not be read. Put them in plain text on the page.
Nobody else mentions you
OpenAI says ChatGPT also reads "other third-party content", including reviews on public websites. Roundups, retailers and forums count.

You don't have an llms.txt
Every Shopify store already serves one. Shopify says it doesn't replace Shopify Catalog.
You're missing an app
Shopify sends eligible stores' products to ChatGPT by default. No app is needed to be listed.

Asking about your brand shows how AI describes you. A buyer's question without your name shows whether it recommends you. Those are different results.
How long does it take for changes to show?
OpenAI says robots.txt changes take about 24 hours to apply. For page changes, nobody publishes a timeline: measure the same questions before and after.
